Two weeks in on a wholefood plant based, and I’ve lost over 12lbs in weight. I’ve found more energy and I’m feeling motivated. I was at rock bottom with my health and now is the chance to reverse a lot of issues. I have to commit now and change my life. This is a lifelong change – it has to be. There is no endgame. No final goal – just life and living it as the best version of me.

I’m not new to this diet and way of life. I did it before, lost over 22lbs and felt great – but I gave up. My mindset wasn’t right and I used my circumstances, to create excuses. It’s hard to change habits of a lifetime, but when those habits are destroying your chances of better health mentally and physically, there is work to do. When you love someone and know you are cutting your time short with them, there is work to do. When you know that it works, you gave up and end up in a worse place than before, there is work to do. Only I can do this.

Changing your diet and staying motivated requires the right mind and energy to succeed. I have to be accountable to myself. This is the greatest challenge. I’ve lived under the philosophy of being of service to others and now I must include myself too.

As I contribute to this blog, I’ll be writing from several perspectives. It’s not just about weight loss, looking better, smaller clothes sizes and improving health. It’s also about challenges, the psychology, the lifestyle changes, the emotional baggage and all those personal struggles that got me and many others in same the mess I found myself in.

I don’t know yet if I’ll add progress photos. I haven’t decided and to be honest, I’ve avoided the camera as much as possible.

I am Nella and I am an obese woman. I’m in poor physical health, I’m 61 years of age, I hit rock bottom with my health and this is my journey out of it – with plants.
